17.06.08Suggest a Host…
I’m looking for a host for a few turnover development websites, probably hosting for around 10-15 websites, mostly blogs.
I’m looking for hosting with the following specs:
- cPanel (reseller account with WHM preferred)
- Around 4GB space, and a suggestible amount of Bandwidth
- Decent Uptime, and Server Specs
- A Reasonable Monthly fee, I have few intentions of paying annually anymore as I’ve been burnt too many times with those ‘Fly by Night‘ hosts who take your annual fee and run after a month!
- Unlimited Databases and Email Aliases/Forwarding
- If Shared Hosting, Unlimited Addon Domains or atlease 15 addon domains
- Support not essential - I’ve enough experience with cPanel and WHM to be able to sort myself out unless it’s a server or backend problem
Can you suggest any hosts? I’m looking for personal experiences with such hosts, but bear in mind these websites will be turned over at a fast rate so I don’t want to be paying the earth for the monthly fees. Just simple shared (although reseller preferred) hosting with cPanel a must!
Any suggestions welcome

Blacknight have always been outstanding and they guys there are superb. I reckon they would also be willing to cut you a deal too.
I’ve recommended them to several people with no complaints whatsoever.

I’ve been using polarPhase.com hosting for a few years now - with great results for a multitude of sites. Excellent service, good price, and great support. Very reliable hosting. Check it out!

I use and recommend HostGator. They have been fanastic for me, and they run Fantastico which means 3 (or so) click install of wordpress. I have a reseller account for $24.95 a month, which is pretty good too.

Thanks guys for the responses RE: Hosts. All fairly valid testimonials. Bear in mind, these recommendations aren’t for the hosting of my main websites/blogs.
@robert: I’ve been hosted previously by Blacknight, found them very professional and competitively priced - although I don’t think their plans in my price range would suit the size of the account which I would require.
@Christian: Never heard of Polar Phase, looks promising but a bit pricey - I know I’m being picky, but I’m not too worried about support, I’m after bare minimum, ‘cheap and cheerful’ style hosting
!
@Tom: Been with Hostgator in the past, found their servers slow and I believe that they are prone to Oversell their servers - which would explain the lazy loading! They may have sorted things out now (I was last hosted with them over a year ago), but generally if I have a bad experience with something I steer well clear if possible.
@smemon: Lunarpages seems like they can offer what I’m looking for - although McAfee say indifferent and won’t let me access their site for some reason :slap: - will look into it.
Thanks again guys.

I know someone else said this and you’ve responded but I’m with hostgator now and have had no problems whatsoever. $10/month. Remember to get my affiliate link if you’re going to sign up with them!

Take a look at the new offering from Blacknight called minimus.
€50 + VAT per year. 30 domains. Unlimited subs. 10GB disk. 100GB traffic per month.
Blacknight Customer Control Panel. If you can use cPanel you can use any - I don’t see an issue.
